Women's Political Representation
Nowadays in Canada, men and women have equal rights but it was not always like this. In the 1900s laws excluded women from public life. Women did not have the right to vote, did not have education, did not have control over their children or property, and were treated like garbage. They were not even considered "persons" until 1929. Women spent many years fighting for equal rights and it is an important subject but I think women's political representation is equally important. This website will talk about what some inspirational women did after gaining the right to participate in politics.
